Masjid Noor - Namadogoda, Buteza - Sironko District, Eastern Uganda

Masjid Noor is located at Namadogoda village, Buteza Sub-County; Sironko District in Uganda The mosque attracts Muslim adherents who converge in the area for daily livelihood in the trading center. The current mosque structure is a temporary shelter made of eucalyptus poles and covered with mud and wattle which are replaced after every rainy or dry season. About 120 Muslims use this temporary shelter on their daily salat and more come during the Jumah prayers. However most of them get inconvenienced a lot during the rainy season as the roof can’t hold the heavy rain pour. The construction of the mosque has therefore been proposed to help 200 Muslims who are residing in the area. The project has got a mosque team ranging from trustees, Imam, Executive and the development team. The land on which the mosque stands was donated by the Imam and through contributions by local people and daily mosque collections the mosque has reached the window level. Further funding of US $ 3,000 is needed from well wishers and donors so as to realize the completion of the mosque.
